Xi'an, located in northwest China's Shaanxi Province, boasts an impressive history of over 3,100 years and has been the capital for 13 different dynasties in China. Recognized as a pivotal center for trade and cultural exchange, Xi'an has functioned as China's gateway to the world since ancient times.
In 1994, Xi'an and Gyeongju established a sister-city relationship, which has since blossomed into fruitful cultural exchanges. These ties have facilitated the sharing of heritage and traditions, underscoring the significance of mutual collaboration.
Recent years have seen a deepening of cultural and people-to-people exchanges between Xi'an and Gyeongju. In August, both cities jointly organized an exhibition in Gyeongju, presenting an array of calligraphy, fine arts, and photography that featured over 270 artworks by artists from both nations.
