On March 20, a significant milestone was reached in the promotion of Chinese culture and tourism as the launch ceremony for the "Discover the Beauty of China" event was held for foreign diplomats in 2026 at the Shunyi Grand Theater in Beijing. The event attracted notable attendees, including Gao Zheng, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China, and Croatian Ambassador to China, Dario Mihalin, along with over 200 representatives from diverse sectors, including 12 foreign ambassadors and chargé d'affaires from 40 countries.
The ceremony highlighted the importance of cultural exchange as domestic and foreign guests explored the special exhibition "Blossoming National Gate: Colorful Shunyi" and engaged in the themed promotion of "Discover the Beauty of China." This collaborative event allowed participants to reflect on the initiative's five-year journey and act as a launching pad for the activities planned for 2026.
In 2023, the program will continue to expand its reach, taking foreign diplomats on immersive journeys to cities rich in culture and history, such as Beijing, Chongqing, Guangdong, Sichuan, Hubei, and Shaanxi. These experiences are designed to showcase the harmonious blend of culture and tourism in China, as well as the country’s strides in modern development.
Since its inception in 2021, the "Discover the Beauty of China" event has successfully engaged over 500 diplomats from 107 countries, showcasing China's extensive cultural heritage. By the conclusion of 2026, the initiative aims to encompass all 24 provinces, providing further opportunities for international diplomats to experience the richness of Chinese culture, enhancing mutual understanding and solidarity among nations.
