China's major airlines have announced an extension of free refunds and rebooking options for flights to Japan, which will be applicable for tickets bought before December 5, 2025. This decision comes in the wake of rising tensions and related disruptions in air travel.

The current situation stems from remarks made by Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi concerning Taiwan.
