Cambodia will offer visa-free entry for Chinese nationals from June 15 to October 15, 2026, for stays of up to 14 days, according to an official announcement made on Tuesday.
Under this four-month pilot program, Chinese travelers arriving directly from China will be granted entry without a visa and will be able to enjoy a stay of up to two weeks.
Travelers participating in this initiative will not incur any visa fees; instead, they will only need to complete an electronic arrival card upon arrival.
The program will allow multiple entries during the trial period, enabling Chinese visitors to explore Cambodia freely.
This announcement is expected to significantly bolster tourism in Cambodia, which has already seen approximately one million visits from Chinese travelers in the first ten months of 2025, as reported by the Ministry of Tourism.
The Cambodian government is also set to discuss with the Chinese authorities the possibility of simplifying visa procedures for Cambodian tourists traveling to China, laying the groundwork for future reciprocal arrangements.
Thourn Sinan, chairman of the Pacific Asia Travel Association’s Cambodia chapter, welcomed the news, stating that it would attract more tourists, businesspeople, and investors to the region.
As the third largest source of foreign tourists to Cambodia following Thailand and Vietnam, Chinese travelers play a crucial role in the Southeast Asian country's tourism landscape.
This initiative reflects Cambodia's ongoing efforts to enhance international relations and tourism connectivity, further positioning the nation as a favorable destination for Chinese visitors.
With the implementation of this visa exemption trial, Cambodia aims to stimulate its economy and amplify its appeal as a vibrant travel destination.
