In a significant gathering aimed at fostering unity, over 3,000 participants convened in Beijing for the event themed 'Together for Peace.' This event marked the launch of the World Youth Peace Initiative, which encourages young advocates to champion global peace, enhance cultural exchanges, and promote cooperative strategies.
Hosted by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries alongside the All-China Youth Federation, the World Youth Peace Conference took place on July 29 at Peking University, coinciding with the 80th anniversary of the victory in the World Anti-Fascist War.
A critical focus of the conference was addressing pressing issues such as climate change and the advancement of technologies aimed at social good, highlighting the role of youth in navigating these global challenges.
The initiative's statement encapsulated a powerful message, stating, '80 years ago, our predecessors illuminated darkness with unity. 80 years later, it is up to us – the youth – to define the future through action.' This reinforces the belief in the proactive role of youth in shaping a better world.
