Heavenly Horses Festival Comes Alive in Xinjiang

The 2025 Xinjiang Ili Heavenly Horses Festival is currently captivating audiences in Zhaosu County with an array of thrilling activities. This vibrant festival features equestrian competitions, in-depth academic seminars focusing on the horse industry, dynamic youth combat matches, and engaging cultural performances that highlight the rich traditions of the region.

Officially kicked off with an opening ceremony on Saturday, the festival spans over five months, running from May to October. Throughout this time, attendees can look forward to experiencing a total of 16 diverse and engaging events that celebrate both the equine heritage and local culture.

Zhaosu County, often referred to as 'China's Land of Heavenly Horses,' has a remarkable history of horse breeding that stretches back thousands of years.
