Kazakhstan Kicks Off "China Tourism Year" with Celebrations

On June 16, the opening ceremony for the "China Tourism Year" in Kazakhstan took place at the National Museum of Kazakhstan in Astana. The Minister of Culture and Tourism of China, Sun Yeli, and the Minister of Tourism and Sports of Kazakhstan, Melsa Bosenov, attended the ceremony and delivered speeches.
The holding of the "China Tourism Year" in Kazakhstan is a significant consensus reached by the heads of state of the two countries. During the opening ceremony, Sun Yeli and Melsa Bosenov jointly inaugurated the exhibition "Silk and the Silk Road: From China to Kazakhstan." This exhibition is one of the main events of the tourism year, intended to showcase the rich historical heritage and vibrant modern development of Silk Road culture, as well as the friendly exchanges and cultural integration between China and the countries along the Silk Road.
The exhibition is divided into three sections: the Origin of Silk, the Silk Road, and the Uses of Silk. It features a total of 145 exhibits, including 21 artifacts from ancient silk relics to contemporary silk artworks. The exhibition is set to run until August 8.
The opening ceremony also included cultural performances, a Hanfu fashion show, and intangible cultural heritage experiences. Additionally, the China Silk Museum and the National Museum of Kazakhstan signed a memorandum of cooperation.
